Greenpoint’s neighborhood gem, Cecily, is embracing the fall season with a new menu that showcases the creative talents of their new Executive Chef, James Salazar. Known for his unique style developed in top kitchens like Mission Chinese and Estela, Salazar has curated a lineup of inventive dishes that balance seasonal flavors with a few unexpected twists.

The seasonal lineup is a playful, sensory journey, beginning with the Asian Pear and Kohlrabi starter, which combines crisp pear and delicate kohlrabi with whipped ricotta, almonds, and Thai basil. Another standout, the Okonomiyaki Rice, is inspired by the flavors of Japanese street food but reinterpreted through a new lens. Here, bunashimeji mushrooms, cabbage, and a flurry of bonito flakes sit atop a bed of crispy rice, delivering a savory and textural experience that’s both familiar and delightfully unexpected.

For mains, the Skate Wing with Sauce Gribiche is not to be missed. Paired with trout roe and fresh dill, the dish is a vibrant play on surf-and-turf, with the creamy, tangy Sauce Gribiche complementing the delicate skate and a burst of salty richness from the roe. Diners looking for dessert will find a comforting yet modern take in the Coconut Rice Pudding, topped with brûléed banana.

The drink menu at Cecily has also been refreshed for autumn, with seasonally inspired cocktails like the “Something Soft,” a soothing blend of honey chamomile, vodka, and sherry. As the holidays approach, Cecily’s space is available for private events, making it a charming setting for gatherings of all kinds.

Cecily is located at located at 80 Franklin Street in Brooklyn. For more information, visit cecilybk.com
