After working at fine dining establishments such as The Modern at MoMA, Manhatta, and One White Street, Daniel Joseph Corpuz, a pastry chef and chocolatier, began focusing exclusively on chocolates during the pandemic. Utilizing his Filipino-American background, he launched Daniel Corpuz Chocolatier where you can find an array of vibrant bonbons and other confections.

Corpuz is known for infusing Filipino and Asian flavors into his chocolates such as Ube, Kalamansi, Pandan, Roasted Corn, Philippine Coffee and Caramelized Banana. Other offerings include sea salt caramel, chocolate crunch and vanilla hazelnut. They are almost too beautiful to eat. The chocolates can be purchased by the piece or box at the shop inside Canal Street Market (261 Canal St, NTC) or online.

His extensive work with chocolate, during a turbulent time in the food industry yielded the opportunity to be on Netflix’s new show, ‘School of Chocolate’ with world renowned Pastry Chef Amaury Guichon.
