Sometimes it’s the comforting things we enjoy the most. A nice glass of wine, some friends and a large slice of lasagna. Zahra Tangorra is tapping into our inner lasagna obsession at ZaZa Lazagna, a pop-up inside Shelsky’s in Cobble Hill. Here lasagna is made fresh to order each Friday with a menu that also changes weekly.

There is the classic Meatless Lasagna with ricotta, mozzarella, provolone and red sauce. Or, amp it up with some Green Lasagna with pesto, chard, broccoli and ricotta, or how about Carbonara Lasagna with pancetta, parmigiana and black pepper. Each week there is a new adventure.
Italian soups like "pasta fazool" are offered, and traditional meatballs in red sauce. Or, maybe some Chicken Saltimbocca Meatballs? Add garlic bread with tomato butter and you’ve got an entire Italian feast. Don’t skip out on dessert. The Cannoli Cake looks simply dreamy.

As Zahra puts it, “Can’t go see your beloved family, and feeling overwhelmed with anxiety about the world smoldering around you? Well there’s no better solution then to eat an entire lasagna in the closet of your home and wash it down with some meatballs while crying in the bath!”

The lasagna can be purchased by the tray (serving 4 to 5 people) for $40 to $45 or a big slice for $14. A new menu is posted each week (this week’s is already sold out) and can be pre-ordered by DMing @zaza_lazagna a very Brucie pop up. Orders are picked up at Shelsky’s of Brooklyn (141 Court St) across from Trader Joe’s.
