International superstar Daniel Radclife will star in the New York Theatre Workshop production of the musical “Merrily We Roll Along,” which will complete the theatre’s 2022/23 season. The production will be directed by Maria Friedman and choreographed by Tim Jackson.
Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by George Furth based on the original play by George S. Kaufman & Moss Hart, the show charts the turbulent, decades-long relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends: writer Mary Flynn and lyricist and playwright Charley Kringas (to be played by Radcliffe). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Radcliffe is best known for portraying Harry Potter in the film series of J.K. Rowling’s books. He has starred on Broadway in “Equus,” “The Cripple of Inishman,” “The Lifespan of a Fact,” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
