Domenico ‘Dom’ DeMarco, who made Midwood a destination at Di Fara Pizza, was well known for his old school charm as much as his fresh basil and hand grated parmesan. His family announcing that he has passed away at the age of 85.
His daughter, Margie De Marco Mieles made the announcement in a Facebook post, writing, “It is with a broken heart that I must share that he has left my mom, my brothers, my sister, myself and all those that loved him because it was his time. My dad "Dom" was 85 years old and all our hearts will be broken.”
DeMarco, who was often seen hard at work making pizzas with a passion, drew long lines to his pizza parlor. He will be sorely missed by a city that adored him.
