Doyle Hosts Second Stage & Screen Auction

Doyle New York (175 East 87th Street) has announced the second annual Stage & Screen auction on Friday, June 24 at 10am, with a public exhibition from June 18-20. The upcoming sale chronicles the diverse history of the performing arts.
The sale is highlighted by several autographs of George Gershwin and items from the archive of composer Harold Arlen. Other highlights include original costume designs for Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Garland by the inimitable Edith Head, a group of works by Al Hirschfeld, archives of letters sent from Katharine Hepburn and violinist Isaac Stern, and various items signed by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Fred Astaire
In addition, there will be collection of books on The Beatles, which includes a signed copy of John Lennon’s “In his own Write” and a rare proof of his political treatise “Power to the People,” Original artwork from the 1960s by the folk singer Richie Havens, and a signed photograph of David Bowie.
