Drinking and axe throwing make for an interesting evening at Live Axe on Lafayette Street in Lower Manhattan. The Viking-theme lounge offers plush seating, artisanal cocktails and interesting bites, including flatbread pizzas, fire-roasted chicken skewers and a braised short rib on top of garlic mashed potatoes. After throwing back a cocktail or two, including one called Killing Me Softly, visitors test their axe-throwing abilities by taking aim at one of several targets. Participants must sign a waiver of liability before participating, including the risk of being hit by an axe and errors in judgement.
