Eddie Izzard’s Hamlet to Move to Orpheum Theatre

Eddie Izzard’s acclaimed solo performance of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” will move from the Greenwich House Theatre (27 Barrow Street), after its final performance on March 16, to the Orpheum Theatre (126 Second Avenue) beginning on Tuesday, March 19 for a four-week extension through April 14.

In the piece, adapted by Mark Izzard and directed by Selina Cadell, Izzard plays all the roles in the classic drama, including Hamlet, Gertrude, Claudius, Ophelia, Polonious, Laertes and more.

A noted actor and comedian, Izzard recently performed a solo version of Charles Dickens “Great Expectations.” He also received a Tony Award nomination for his work in the Broadway revival of “A Day in the Death of Joe Egg.”
