Located in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood filled with old world charm, including turn of-the-century townhouses and storefronts, is Runner & Stone (285 Third Ave, Brooklyn) where Chef Chris Pizzulli and Head Baker Peter Endriss are known for their outstanding breads and pastries.
It is also a place where you can enjoy a wonderful weekend brunch in what a strictly serve-yourself affair. The reward is some of the flakiest croissants in the city, miniature quiches, focaccia and wonderful sandwiches like House Cured Duck Pastrami with Russian dressing, lacy swiss, red cabbage slaw on house-made deli rye, and Ginger Sage Pork Sausage with soft scrambled eggs and local white cheddar on whole wheat brioche bun, among others. Be sure to grab a baguette or a rustic loaf of their walnut sourdough for when you get back home!
