Fai Bene which translates into “do good” is turning out some very good old school Italian dishes at its restaurant on Third Avenue in Gowanus. Look for oversized portions, relatively low prices and a family-friendly atmosphere. Diners are greeted with house-made focaccia and a menu dominated by Italian classics led by Chef Andre DiGregorio.
Begin with shareable plates of grilled octopus in a balsamic reduction, lightly fried calamari & zucchini, baked clams, seafood salad and more. Pastas run the gamut from Fettucine Alfredo and Penne a La Vodka to traditional lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs. Main courses bring roasted chicken, veal parmigiana, stuffed pork chops and rack of veal. Desserts include tiramisu and Italian cheesecake.
Fai Bene is located at 255 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY (929) 295-8425
