Gee’s Caribbean Restaurant Opens in Crown Heights

Gee’s Caribbean restaurant has opened its doors on Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights. The restaurant, from the Team behind Gloria’s is known for its Trinidadian specialties like oxtail stew and jerk chicken. Visitors will also discover things like curry chicken, goat or conch as well as tofu and vegetable dishes. The dishes can be ordered as a roti or platter with flavored rice and sides such as fried okra, plantains, macaroni salad and potato salad. Soups include pigtail, cow heel and seafood.
Aloo pie, similar to a fried empanada, is also counted among the appetizers. Specialty beverages like sorrel, mauby and ginger beer are also available.
