Gourmet vegan food from Harlem’s beloved Seasoned Vegan is now available on the go at the newly-opened Seasoned Vegan Real Quick in the East Village.
Owned by mother and son team of Chef Brenda Beener and Aaron Beener, the restaurant draws on the family’s New Orleans roots and features their most popular dishes offered as sandwiches, including their unique signature grilled burdock root "crawfish." The Craw Pretzel Boy with remoulade sauce is a vegan take on the crawfish po-boy served on a pretzel bun. There is also the BBQ Craw Sandwich smothered in bayou BBQ sauce, and the SV Nugget Sandwich with Lemon Crusted Nuggets (soy protein) offered with fries tossed with Cajun seasoning. Visitors will also find housemade organic desserts like Raw Cheesecake made with cashews, walnuts and dates.
The restaurant also has some big name fans including Stevie Wonder, Indie Arie, Danny Glover, Colin Kaepernick and Cory Booker, to name a few.
Seasoned Vegan Real Quick is located at 128 2nd Ave. near St. Marks Place; Open daily 11am – 12am. For mor information, visit www.seasonedvegan.com
