James Beard Foundation to Host Taste America NYC at Pier 57’s Market 57 on February 27

Market 57, the newly launched food hall celebrating the culinary and cultural diversity of New York City’s local independent food culture, will host Taste America NYC on February 27th with over a dozen kiosks curated by Jamestown with input from the James Beard Foundation.

The walk-around tasting will feature special bites from TasteTwenty NYC host chef Ayo Balugon (Dept of Culture, Brooklyn, NY) and TasteTwenty visiting Hawaii chef Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka (MW Restaurant and Artizen by MW, Honolulu, HI) in addition to delicious food stations from the Market 57 kiosks. Each station’s offering will reflect the chef’s signature style and highlight the uniqueness of their culinary contribution to the community.

Market 57 is also home to Platform by JBF — a state-of-the-art show kitchenDylan Rives / Courtesy of the James Beard Fo, event space, and educational hub for culinary arts programming that brings to life the Foundation’s Good Food for Good® mission.

Hosted stations will also highlight NYC’s local independent food culture, featuring popular vendors from Market 57 including Nom Wah, Zaab Zaab, Bessou, Sahadi’s, HoneyBunny Chicken and Biscuits, The Real MotherShuckers, and more.

Proceeds from Taste America events benefit the participating chefs, as well as the James Beard Foundation’s national impact programming in support of equity, sustainability, women’s leadership, and a future where all can thrive for the culinary industry and beyond.
