L’Artusi, which recently opened b’artusi, is adding a neighborhood café and sandwich shop to its repertoire in the West Village. Via Porta, which is open for breakfast and lunch, is offering an all-day take-away menu of Italian-inspired sandwiches and salads prepared by L’Artusi’s long-time executive chef Joe Vigorito, and house made sweet and savory pastries from pastry chef Janée Humphreys. Visitors can also purchase pasta sauces, fresh cheeses, Italian-imported olive oils, and more.
Via Porta’s breakfast includes house made pastries like Cacio e Pepe Scones, Huckleberry Pear Poptarts, Carrot Cake Muffins and Olive Oil Loaf; Seasonal Frittata with radicchio, broccoli, goat cheese, and pecorino; and the Uova Funghi, a sandwich inspired by L’Artusi’s popular roasted mushroom appetizer with soft scrambled eggs, Gouda cheese, thick-cut pancetta, and lemon aioli.
For lunch, there is an array of sandwiches, including the Joe Vigs, Chef Joe Vigorito’s namesake, with mortadella, finocchiona, prosciutto, asiago, mozzarella, peppers, and garlic aioli on a sesame seed roll from Parisi Bakery, Chicken Saltimbocca with a crispy chicken cutlet, spicy capicola, arrabiata sauce, provolone, house made pesto, and mozzarella, among others. There are also salads, including a Sunchoke Caesar.
Via Porta is open daily from 7AM-3PM, with the entire menu offered from open to close.
Via Porta is located at 522 Hudson St, New York, NY
