At Lin and Daughters, Becky Lin says dumplings are more than just comfort food. She says while working as a child in her family restaurant, Lin’s Kitchen, dumplings became a sign of “love and unity” as the family created memories through the act of dumpling making. The restaurant is dedicated to Lin's father, a former chef, and her two daughters.
Now, Lin & Daughters is trying to recreate those moments with a menu of Chinese dumplings, noodles and comfort foods. There are shrimp dumplings with a lime chili sauce; pan-fried cumin beef dumplings with chili sauce; and Lin’s pillowy pork and chive dumplings made in the style of southern China with a house dipping sauce.
Other options include Brother Lin’s Beef Noodle Soup, named after brother, Mike, with braised beef brisket in a bone broth saturated with herbs and spices, Dan Dan Noodles with crispy pork and roasted peanuts, and Grandma’s Peanut Butter Noodles with a sweet and savory peanut sauce originating from Fuzhou, China. There are also steamed wontons in hot chili oil and bok choy smothered in oyster sauce. Lin’s also serves assorted bubble teas with wine and beer to follow.
Lin & Daughters is located at 181 W 4th St, New York, NY (917) 645 - 0229
