Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Dominique Morriseau and theater company Ars Nova will receive special honors at the 39th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards – the only New York theatre award to exclusively honor Off-Broadway – at their annual ceremony, which is set to take place Sunday, May 5 at NYU Skirball. The Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

Santiago-Hudson, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, is a revered actor, director, and playwright, best known for his solo show “Lackawanna Blues.” Morriseau, who will be added to the Lortel’s Playwrights Sidewalk, is currently represented Off-Broadway by the Signature Theatre Company’s production of her 2013 play “Sunset Baby.” Ars Nova, which is being honored for its Outstanding Body of Work, has produced such groundbreaking work as “Freestyle Love Supreme,” “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” and” KPOP.”

The event will be open to the public, with tickets available for purchase beginning April 4 at tickets.nyu.edu or at the NYU Skirball box office Tuesday through Saturday from 12pm–6pm. The Lortel Awards is a benefit for the Entertainment Community Fund and fans are encouraged to make donations at LortelAwards.org.
