What do you get when you combine upscale drinks with a dive bar’s attitude? You get Lullaby, a new bar on the Lower East Side that promises to bring sexy drinks without all the fuss.
To do so, Harrison Snow and Jake Hodas, who concocted the idea, have teamed up with Boston bartending legend Brother Cleve, paring Cleve’s affinity for high quality cocktails with Hodas’ love of dive bars. The opening bar team also includes award-winning bartender Brian Miller (Death & Co., Pegu Club, The Polynesian).
House Punch
All of the drinks are priced in the $10-$15 range and include the namesake, Lullaby, a stiff nutty rye cocktail made with a blend of sherry, amaro, and arrope that is sure to sing you to sleep; The Whiskey Drink (think rhinestone cowboy), a creamy, herbal cocktail made with Abasolo Mexican corn whiskey, olosoro sherry, mascarpone, parsley and lime; and something they are calling the Dole Whip, an alcoholic pineapple soft serve that arrives in a classic "We Are Happy to Serve You" cup.
Vermouth
Cocktails are accompanied by “midnight snacks” and a pared down tapas menu. Sustainable wines that arrive via a cargo sailboat are also part of the experience. Lullaby's subterranean space also takes a minimalist approach with a flame-finished black granite bar, custom made furniture, pleated lamps and furnishings showcasing works by local artisans.
Lullaby is located at 151 Rivington St, New York, NY
