Maison Yaki is reopening in Prospect Heights for takeout and delivery
February 9, 2021, 5:45.20 pm ET
Maison Yaki, the French yakitori restaurant in Prospect Heights from chef-owner Greg Baxtrom is reopening for takeout and delivery. The restaurant closed less than a year after opening due to the pandemic. Baxtrom temprarily used the space to host a number of pop-ups from rising local talent, like Lani Halliday’s Brutus Bakeshop and Jared Howard’s Honey Bunny’s Chicken, and SuperSonic, a hot dog pop up from Olmsted’s longtime chef de cuisine Taylor Hester.
Now, Maison Yaki is reopening with its signature yakitori menu and starters like Cauliflower Okonomiyaki with yuzu kosho mayo and Japanese BBQ sauce; Duck Rillette with wasabi hollandaise, pickled ginger and toasted brioche; and Mimosa Salmon Tartare with fried capers, lemon creme fraiche and white pepper crackers. Signature yakitori includes King Trumpet Mushrooms [grown above Maison Yaki’s bar] a la Grecque; Shrimp with Sauce Maltaise; and Duck Meatballs A L’Orange, among others.

Also new to the menu, Beef Short Rib yakitori with sauce bordelaise and bone marrow butter; Grilled Chicken Wings with espelette and sansho pepper; and Tempura Fried Onion Rings with rouille and fresno chili pepper.
Maison Yaki’s new menu [each dish priced under $20], will be available for takeaway and delivery via Caviar, Uber Eats, Seamless and Grubhub.
