When Paper Daisy replaced Café Orlin, a fixture on St Marks place for 36 years in the East Village, there were high hopes for its success. But then the pandemic hit and Paper Daisy shut down and never reopened. Enter Marylou, a new restaurant occupying the space, including its popular outdoor dining area known for its people watching (or being seen).
At Marylou, look for charcuterie plates and cheese boards along with things like deviled eggs, snapper crudo, beef tartare, mussels in wine sauce, and Bourguignon sliders; among others. Cocktails come with names like Purple Rain (gin, blanc vermouth, lavender and grapefruit); French Quarters (an old fashioned with cocoa butter washed bourbon and brulee syrup), and B.B. Brigitte Bardot (mescal apertivo, passion fruit, serrano pepper and citrus).
Marylou is open at 41 St Marks Pl, New York, NY
