Milano Market Arrives in Brooklyn in Time for Holidays

A shiny new gourmet food shop has arrived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Milano Market which specializes in Italian cuisine is showcasing everything from oversized meatballs in tomato sauce to house made porchetta and prosciutto imported from Palma, Italy. This is the shop’s second location after getting its start on the Upper East Side in 1982.

Visitors will also discover vibrant vegetables like broccoli rabe sautéed with garlic and oil, and oven roasted brussel sprouts, alongside freshly-baked ham, fried chicken cutlets, roasted eye round and smoked pastrami. All look wonderful.

There are dozens of signature sandwiches to be had like the Milano Special with ham, salami, ham, capicola, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, roasted peppers and oil & vinegar on semolina hero; and Smoked Prosciutto (Speck) with fresh mozzarella, roasted pepper, tomato, basil with oil & vinegar on rosemary focaccia. There are also several vegetarian options.

Visitors will also discover a number of house-made salads and pastas such as lasagna, raviolis and stuffed shells. Assorted breads and baked goods are also sold along with a large selection of cheeses, imported olives and fine olive oils. Many of the items, including 6-foot heroes and platters, can be catered with 48 hour notice. There are also gift baskets.
