Mostrador NYC (28 Cortlandt Alley) is kicking off dinner and brunch service at the Walker Tribeca Hotel. The restaurant aims to transport diners to the wine bars of Buenos Aires, offering small plates inspired by simple, quality whole food ingredients, while Chef Fernando Trocca’s brunch gives an Argentinian twist to classic American offerings.

Chef Trocca puts it this way, ““I choose quality over quantity, always. There is a truth in simplicity. Fresher produce, better ingredients. That is when the real flavors come alive. I call it a revolution of the simple.”

Signature dishes includeBraised Chicken and Sofrito Empanadas; Saffron Risotto with Veal Osso Bucco (Fernando’s grandmother's own recipe); Smoked Paprika Prawns; Skirt Steak with fingerling and sweet potatoes, shallots and chimichurri; and Beet Salad.

A selection of Argentinian and Uruguayan wines and cocktails are available, including the Fernandito, featuring kola date syrup, fernet branca and sparkling wine.

For brunch, the restaurant is offering a signature basket of house-made pastries, alongside dishes like Bacon, Egg & Chipa, French Toast, Eggs with Skirt Steak, and Eggs Benedict. Brunch cocktails rooted in South America are also offered, like Paloma’s Paloma with pomelo and grapefruit cordial, tequila and club soda.
