Restaurant Yuu from Chef/Owner Yuu Shimano has launched an eight-seat Wine and Cheese Bar adjacent to the L-shaped chef’s tasting counter. The creative and playful atmosphere adds a new dimension to the restaurant by making it a destination for pre- or post-dinner drinks.

Guests can ejoy wine and sake by the glass as well as Japanese whisky, selected by newly-appointed Sommelier Alex Chung. Accompanying the beverages is a well-curated cheese selection that will include a 26-month Comte, Chabichou, and Mimolette.

The cheese is served as a selection of 3 cuts or as part of a Grand Cheese Plate to go along with Donut Peach Jam and Dry Fruit Bread made in house daily by Executive Pastry Chef Masaki Takahashi.

New York-based brewery Grimm Artisanal Ales is partnering with Oishii to launch the new Ambient Fizz: Koyo Berry, a barrel-aged spontaneous sour ale made using Oishii’s newest varietal, the Koyo Berry, available at the Grimm taproom (990 Metropolitan Ave Brooklyn] starting Saturday, September 9th. The launch party will include Oishii berries for sampling as well as custom pint glasses for purchase, and tastings from the Grimms' recently opened rooftop pizzeria, Lala’s Brooklyn Apizza.

LORE & Wölffer Estate are teaming up for a Dinner with Wine Pairing. Think Montaulk scallops and pan seared duck breast paired with Wölffer Estate’s Long Island Wines. (Sept 12 at 6pm; $84pp)

On the Menu
