The final two offerings at Central Park’s Delacorte Theatre, which will undergo a massive renovation, have been announced – and both feature cast members from the original Broadway production of the mega-hit “Hamilton.”
First, Tony Award winner Renee Elise Goldsberry will star as Prospero in the upcoming free production of Public Works’ “The Tempest” from August 27-September 3. This new musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic play features music and lyrics by Benjamin Velez, choreography by Tiffany Rea-Fisher, and direction by Laurie Woolery.

Finally on September 6 at 7pm, The Delacorte will host “A Brief Intermission”, a celebration of the venue’s illustrious 61-year history and upcoming revitalization. The show features the Tony Award-winning hip-hop, improv, musical comedy group Freestyle Love Supreme, including appearances by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson. It will be the last show at the Delacorte before it reopens in 2025.
