The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu’s award-winning play “Pass Over.” will now launch the 2021-2022 Broadway season with performances beginning on August 4 at the August Wilson Theatre (245 W 52nd Street). Performances are set to conclude on October 10.
The 85-minute play -- which draws inspiration from both Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” and the Exodus story -- finds two young black men, Moses and Kitch, standing on a street corner, passing the time, and hoping that maybe today will be different. As they dream of their promised land, a white stranger wanders into their space and disrupts their plans.
The production, to be directed by Obie Award winner Danya Taynor, will feature the original cast from the Lincoln Center Theater production: Tony Award nominee Jon Michael Hill, Jeff Award nominee Namir Smallwood and Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert.
