Di Fara Pizza, started by Dominick Di Fara in 1965 at a storefront in Midwood, Brooklyn, is heading to Staten Island. According to a report in the Staten Island Advance, a new Di Fara’s will be opening in March in the former home of Corner House BBQ at 100 Lincoln Avenue in Grant City. Di Fara’s will reportedly share the space with Juicy Lucia (part of Juicy Lucy) with a St. Patrick’s Day opening planned.
We first met Dominick in 2015 as continued to make pies at his Midwood, Brooklyn location. Since then, Di Fara’s has expanded to Williamsburg and now Staten Island. Di Fara’s became one of the best known pizzerias in New York City drawing long lines for its thin-crust pies (an now squares) topped with freshly sliced basil and hand-ground parmesan cheese.
