Restaurant Radar: Lupetto, Mamazul and Venchi to Open in NYC

Lupetto is taking shape in the Flatiron District. The restaurant is from team behind La Pecora Bianca. Lupetto means “little wolf” in Italian. Chefs Michael Berardino (dell'anima, Rubirosa) and Matt Spivey (Maialino) will reportedly lead the kitchen focusing on wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas as well as meat and fish from a wood grill, along with assorted pastas. Lupetto is located in the former Hill Country Chicken space at the corner of 25th Street and Broadway.

Nearby in NoMad, a Mexican grill called Mamazul is set to open at 1155 Broadway on the corner of West 27th Street.

On the corner of 28th Street and Broadway, signage is also up for a new Venchi location. Venchi is known for its fine Italian chocolates and gelato dating back to 1878.
