Some Like It Hot Leads 76th Annual Tony Award Nominations

The musical “Some Like It Hot” has topped the list of nominations for the 76th Annual Tony Awards, which will take place at The United Palace Theater on Sunday, June 11. The show, which will stream live on Pluto TV at 6:30pm and the CBS Television Network at 8pm, will be hosted by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose.

“Some Like It Hot,” received a total of 13 nominations, including Best Musical and nods for actors J. Harrison Ghee, Christian Borle, Kevin Del Aguila, and Natasha Yvette Williams.

Other musicals receiving multiple nominations include “Shucked,” “Kimberly Akimbo,” and “& Juliet,” each of which received nine nominations, “Sweeney Todd,” which earned eight nominations, and the revivals of “Into the Woods” and “Parade,” which both got six nominations.

On the play side, Tom Stoppard’s “Leopoldstadt,” Jordan E. Cooper’s “Ain’t No Mo’” and Jamie Lloyd’s revival of “A Doll’s House” each earned six nominations, Pulitzer Prize winners “Fat Ham” and “Cost of Living,” got five nods, as did “Life of Pi.”

Notable actors who received nominations include Sara Bareilles, Jessica Chastain, Jodie Comer, Victoria Clark, Josh Groban, Sean Hayes, Samuel L. Jackson, Audra McDonald, Ben Platt, and Wendell Pierce.
