Sweet Success at Miss American Pie in Park Slope
August 29, 2021, 3:01.22 pm ET
A trip to Miss American Pie in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park is like a little taste of heaven. That’s because you can tell each pie is made with a lot of love. The shop, which has a retro Americana look, is run by self-taught baker Lindsey Hill. While some shops are focusing on experimental flavors, Miss American Pie is sticking with the classics. Each pie is made perfectly with a flaky, all-butter crust.
The Signature Pie is filled with a mix of apples, peaches and blueberries, topped with an oatmeal crumble, while the Cherry Crumb is filled with tart Montmorency cherries commonly found on small farms with a cookie crust. It’s also dairy and gluten-free.
The Coconut Cream Pie is a creamy masterpiece with house-made coconut custard, sweet whipped cream and topped with toasted coconut, while the Key Lime Pie is filled with a tart lime custard and a graham cracker crust. Other offerings include Lemon Chiffon, Black & Blueberry and Turtle Pie. Savory options include a chili and chicken pot pie.
Miss American Pie is located at 86 Fifth Ave, Brooklyn, NY (718)789-3747
