One last spin of the season. Flipper’s Roller Rink will soon be gone at Rockefeller Center to make room for ice skating this fall and winter. The last spin on wheels will take place on September 24th.

Also at Rock Center – Organic Valley will be hosting a two day pop-up in the Channel Gardens for NYC Climate Week (Sept 20, 21). Experiences range from a milk a (topiary) cow to a vintage tractor and cheese samples from 10am to 6pm.

Sake No Hana is celebrating National Seafood Month with a six-part Izakaya-style menu with modern twists with fish flown daily from the prestigious Toyosu Market in Tokyo. Guests can enjoy grilled teppanyaki dishes, yakitori skewers, Wagyu beef, creative sushi rolls, and a curated list of sakes, beers, and cocktails highlighting Japanese spirits.

Tickets are now on sale for next month’s PaleyFest featuring some of televisions brightest stars. This year’s line-up includes Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos; Syndicated Talk Show Host Tamron Hall; Face the Nation Moderator Margaret Brennan; and the stars of Shark Tank in person; among others. Singapura Gramercy is welcoming fall with a Malaysian-Singaporean Feast. It is introducing Curry Claypot Rice, a traditional dish served across Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and beyond. It combines a choice of protein (chicken, beef, vegetable/tofu, or seafood) with aromatic curry-infused rice that is slow-cooked in claypots that lend a unique crust and depth of flavor.

September 18th is National Cheeseburger Day. To celebrate, Black Tap is offering its TX Burger, a prime burger wiht bacon, Longhorn Colby, crispy onion ring, TX Bourbon BBQ sauce, peppercorn mayo, and coffee bbq rub. The burger will be availbale for one day only (Sept 18) at Black Tap's 35th Street and SoHo locations 11am to 2pm. The cost is 18 bucks.

Burger King is going a step further. The national chain will be offering a Free Cheeseburger with purchase of $1 or more, available for redemption by Royal Perks Members on 09/18 from 10:30am to 11:59pm at participating U.S. Burger King restaurants.

Turning trash to treasure. At ChaShaMa (1155 6th Ave, NYC). 3 RITES: Life, Liberty and Happiness emphasizes responsible stewardship of nature and questions dependency on fossil fuels with performance installations made from plastic trash. It is described as a “mash-up between a DIY Haunted house, Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory and a dance concert.” Final performance is September 17th.

Is it a play or a hair salon? JaJa’s African Hair Braiding is making its debut at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre on October 3 (Now in previews). It takes place in a hair braiding shop in Harlem where every day, a lively and eclectic group of West African immigrant hair braiders are creating masterpieces on the heads of neighborhood women and revealing “secrets.”

And New York City really is going to the pits. This huge billboard in Times Square appearing during Fashion Week as part of an ad campaign by Dove urging women to show off their armpits and “to challenge preconceived notions of the body part.” #FreeThePits
