The Affogato at Caffe Panna in Gramercy is Scrumptious

For those who aren’t into super sweet desserts, Caffe Panna in Gramercy might just have exactly what you are looking for. Fans of the Affogato, that cross between an Italian coffee drink and dessert, will love this version which offers the bite of espresso, a scoop of ulta-creamy vanilla ice cream and a healthy dollup of whipped cream that literally puts it over the top.
Caffe Panna, run by Hallie Meyer, the daughter of Danny Meyer, is inspired by the gelato shops of Italy. There are seven signature flavors offered along with five rotating ones. Flavors include Red Flag made with sweet cream, strawberry swirl and House made graham crunch, Cookies ‘n Panna with Oreo brittle, and Aud’s Dream which gets a thick peanut butter swirl. Sundaes draw inspiration from what’s happening at the moment. No wonder why folks are lining up.
