L’Appartement 4F, the new French bakery which got its start in an actual apartment during the pandemic, has folks lining up for their fresh croissants and other baked goods. The trick is to get their early when the shop first opens, as items sell our quickly.
Among the baked goods are freshly-made breads – baguette, sourdough and the Baguette a Tout smothered with everything bagel seasoning, among others. Croissants fresh from the oven, all rolled by hand, are flaky and buttery. Additional flavors include Pan Au Chocolat (chocolate croissant), Croissant au Amandes (double baked with almond cream with toasted almonds and powdered sugar on top), and La Framboise (a classic almond croissant with raspberry ganache imported from France. Other options include Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies and the specialty of the house – Petite Croissant Ceréalé – tiny hand-rolled croissants dipped in simple syrup and then dehydrated and served for breakfast or as a snack.

Ashley and Gautier Coiffard, self-taught bakers, say they started L’Appartement 4f to help raise some money for their wedding in France, which was postponed several times, and never thought it would turn into this. In an Instagram post the couple thanked everyone who helped make this stylish bake shop a reality.
