New York City’s newest rooftop par is The Sentry Flatiron atop the Henri Hotel. Perched 18 stories above the hustle of the city below, The Sentry is designed to be a year-round destination spot. Its intimate bar is filled with cozy nooks allowing for the perfect escape. The private rooftop is able to accommodate more than 200 guests and is also available for private events.
A joint venture between Parched Hospitality Group and Hotel Henri, the penthouse boasts city views and a carefully crafted cocktail list by mixologists Gates Otsuji and Jeremy Ortiz. Cocktails include A Little Night Music featuring blanc de blancs bubbles, with cardamaro, amontillado sherry, and banana liqueur served in a coupe with a single cube; Burning Down the House with tequila, passionfruit, jalapeno agave and grapefruit; and Charade with cucumber-dill vodka, clarified lemon, aloe vera, seltzer, and a touch of elderflower.
Sentry Flatiron’s menu offers carefully curated small plates designed to pair well with the drinks. Look for things like Impossible Sausage Rolls with smoked beetroot relish, and Crispy Pork with chili paste, fried shallots, tamarind, and fish sauce caramel. The chef’s creations also include Salt and Pepper Squid with fried curry leaves, limes and a kewpie mayonnaise.
