Tonchin, the popular Japanese restaurant specializing in tonkotsu ramen, now has a second location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Originally from Tokyo, Tonchin (‘to come together’ in Japanese) is known for its signature ramen with housemade thick, wavy noodles, tonkotsu broth and toppings ranging from nori to seasoned cabbage, to roasted chashu pork, and more.
Diners will also discover Japanese-style wings, Oysters with umami clam jelly and kabosu mignonette, and Yakitori skewers with tsukune-chicken meatball and Wagyu beef sirloin, ribeye and tongue with salsa verde and shiso pesto. Dessert brings Kakigori Shaved Ice in assorted flavors such as strawberry, mango and matcha.
The 60-seat space highlights natural materials and textures with bold geometric elements and colors. A long bar that runs parallel to the space displays natural wines and sakes while a linen chandelier hangs above the main dining room from Japanese artist Matthew Tsang.
Tonchin Brooklyn is located at 109A N 3rd St, Brooklyn, NY.
