Virginia’s returns to East Village
March 22, 2023, 8:04.15 pm ET
Virginia’s is back! Reed Adelson – veteran of Locanda Verde and Jean Georges – originally brought Virginia’s to the East Village in 2015. The restaurant named after Reed’s mother closed during the pandemic. It has since undergone a floor-to-ceiling renovation. The new Virginia's is described as a bit more of a ‘come early, stay late’ atmosphere with cocktails and dinner. Brunch is expected to follow in April.
The new menu, anchored by the original Virginia’s burger, is inspired by bistro dining and classic NYC steakhouses. Highlights include Trout Roe Dip with Potato Chips, Steak Frites with Maitre d’ Butter and Friseé, Peekytoe Crab Cake Remoulade, Meyer Lemon-Jalapeno AIoli, Chopped Caesar, and a luscious raw bar menu studded with roasted oysters, Hamachi crudo, and cocktail shrimp.
The revamped restaurant now features 35 outdoor seats and 60 indoor seats with vibrant interiors allowing for a playful and lively bar scene. The cocktail menu, crafted by Evan Hawkins (Broken Shaker NYC, SoHo House, Mother’s Ruin), highlights classic cocktails such as the Virginia’s Martina with house dirty brine and blue cheese stuffed olives, and The Debbie Gibson, a gin cocktail with pickled pink pearl onion and Himalayan salt.
Virginia's is located at 200 East 3rd Street, New York, NY. For more information, visit virginiasnyc.com
