Aromi is bringing classic Italian recipes to Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn. The restaurant, which gets its name from the Italian word for “aroma,” is offering a true Italian experience with pizza and focaccia fresh from its wood-fired oven.

Start with some antipasti. Think lightly fried calamari and zucchini with squid ink mayo, house-made salmon croquettes and slow-braised meatballs with tomato sauce and toasted garlic bread. Pastas are prevalent like mushroom risotto with a hint of white truffle, spaghetti “chitarra” with tomato-basil sauce and parmigiana, and fresh made meat sauce lasagna.

Larger plates bring pan-seared salmon with vegetable ragu; chicken supreme with farro risotto, mushrooms, and parsnips; and a charred grilled sirloin with carrot puree, glazed shallots and thyme beef jus. Sides include roasted brussels sprouts with crispy pancetta.

The flavors of Italy also extend to the cocktails, including negroni, aperol spritz, espresso martini, and Aromi Lemonade with vodka, basil, simple syrup and fresh lemon juice. There’s also an interesting collection of Italian wines whether you choose to be seated in Aromi’s cozy dining room with exposed brick or its welcoming bar.

Aromi is located at 552 Court St, Brooklyn, NY (347) 529-5752
