Yemen Café, a fixture among New York City’s Middle Eastern food scene, has moved from its long-time home on Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to a shiny new space just a few blocks away with floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed brick and large mural of a tree and mountains. Established in 1986, the restaurant is known for serving authentic Yemeni cuisine that continues to draw large crowds to its Bay Ridge and Downtown Brooklyn locations. Visitors will discover dishes like Lamb Haneeth, slow roasted with vegetables, and Saltah, a stew made with root vegetables, lamb and topped with tangy whipped Fenugreek. There are also Grilled Baby Lamb Chops served over rice and Lamb Shish Kebab with brilled vegetables. Chicken dishes are also available, along with the "fish of the day." Start with traditional dips such as baba ghanoush, hummus and foul made with smashed fava beans sand served with bubbly pita bread.
Yemen Café is located at 7317 Fifth Ave, Brooklyn, NY
