WE BELONG HERE MUSIC FESTIVAL COMING TO GOVERNORS ISLAND

Governors Island will be the scene of six music pop-ups in 10 days come May and early June. The six shows will be held on the weekends of May 24-26 and May 29 to June 2nd. The “We Belong Here” festival wil kick off May 24th at 4pm to celebrate the start of summer. The musical line-up includes Le Youth, Rinzen, Chapter & Verse, Lucky Luke, Sidepiece, Koralova and many more. Tickets start at $40 per person (per day) and $120 for weekend passes. MICHELIN-STARRED LE JARDINIER TO HOST PASTA AND CHOCOLATE MAKING EVENTS

On Friday, March 15th at 5:30pm the team behind Michelin-starred Le Jardinier will host a special pasta-making event with Executive Chef Andrew Ayala and Executive Sous Chef Marco Incerti. Guests will gather in Le Jardinier’s private dining space Sereine for an evening of pasta-making that begins with a welcome glass of bubbles and gourmet light bites as guests learn the art of making their own tagliatelle. Following the interactive class, guests will gather at an elegant communal table and enjoy a three-course tasting menu of Italian classics: Burrata, Ravioli and Tiramisu. Tickets are priced $225 per guest.

At le Jardinier on Friday, March 22nd at 6:00pm, guests will discover a Sweet Soirée dedicated to making & tasting their own decadent chocolate bonbons. The Bastion Collection’s Executive Pastry Chef Salvatore Martone will serve as your guide. Guests will enjoy a glass of bubbles to start before learning the art of crafting chocolate bonbons with a hands-on decorating experience. Guests will then gather at an elegant communal table and enjoy a 4-course menu featuring Oysters, Cocoa Ravioli Pasta, Duck and a Dark Chocolate and Caramel Sabayon as the finale. Tickets are priced $225 per guest.

BROOKLYN KURA TO HOST COUNTER BY BESSOU POP-UP MARCH 15 & 16 (3PM TO 9PM)

Brooklyn Kura at Industry City is offering a continuation of Bessou’s The Counter series. This popup pays homage to obanzaiya, small counter-style restaurants in Japan where diners receive personalized homestyle dishes. The menu will highlight traditional Japanese comfort foods crafted with local ingredients, and can be enjoyed alongside Brooklyn Kura’s sake and shochu cocktails. Light bites will be offered in Brooklyn Kura’s taproom on both nights, and limited seating is available on both nights for a communal home cooking omakase dinner at 7:00pm.

ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVITIES AT MARKET 57

New Yorkers looking for alternative St. Patrick’s Day plans that don’t involve bar hopping, should hop over to Market 57’s PLATFORM – a modern showcase kitchen and educational space featuring culinary arts programming and events by the James Beard Foundation – which is hosting a special wine tasting class called “Bubbles and Borolo” on Sunday, March 17. The tasting and seminar will take place at 4:00 pm and will be led by Clara Dechelle of Champagne Philippe Dechelle and Maurizio Sanso of Cascina Sòt Barolo who will share their expertise on three Grower Champagnes and three expressions of Estate Nebbiolo that they each grow, cultivate, harvest, vinify, and age. Guests can also enjoy light bites of artisan cheese and charcuterie enhanced with freshly shaved truffles from ALBA Royal Truffle Company. As a nod to St. Patrick’s Day, guests will be sent off with a goodie bag of handmade artisan Irish chocolates from Bean and Goose. Tickets are available for $95pp and can be purchased here

ORANGE GLOU TO HOST THREE PASTA POP-UP EVENTS THIS MONTH

Orange Glou is hosting pop-ups with Allora Pasta Co. Chef Cameo Fucci on March 10, 17 and 21 at its Manhattan wine store at 264 Broome St. The pasta and wine pairing pop-up is perfect for orange wine enthusiasts and those that are curious. The four-course tasting will feature two handmade pastas paired with four orange wines. It all kicks off on March 10 with a special visit from Alsatian natural-wine icon Christian Binner, whose wines will be paired that night with a vegetarian menu featuring a blood orange and black radish salad; culurgiones pasta from Sardinia stuffed with potatoes, pecorino and chives; ricotta tortellini in brodo with brown butter and garden broth; and semolina olive oil cake with candied lemon. Each of the three nights, a different menu and wines will be paired. Tickets are $55 per person here

NEW EXHIBIT AT THE PALEY CENTER GOES BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE MASKED SINGER

The Paley Museum and Fox Entertainment present Behind the Mask!, a new exhibit that spotlights The Masked Singer and the costumes that have captivated America. Visitors will view the Emmy Award–winning original costumes on display and behind-the-scenes insights. This exhibition is an absolute must-see for fans and culture enthusiasts alike. The exhibit is running from March 13 to May 19 (Wednesdays to Sundays from 12:00 to 6:00 pm) at The Paley Museum at 25 West 52 Street on Manhattan.

DONGPO:LIFE IN POEMS COMING TO NEW YORK’S LINCOLN CENTER MARCH 15-17

Dongpo: Life in Poems, part of China Arts and Entertainment Group’s cultural exchange initiative is introducing traditional and contemporary Chinese performing arts to a New York City audience. Produced and performed by the China Oriental Performing Arts Group & Meishan Song and Dance Theatre, Dongpo: Life in Poems is the latest contemporary operatic dance directed by the international acclaimed dancer, choreographer, director, and painter Shen Wei. The production is based on the poetry and life experiences of the renowned Chinese poet Su Dongpo (1037-1101). Su Dongpo lived in the Song Dynasty, and the production transforms the comprehension of poetry into self-perception, and then externalizes it through body movement and multiple audiovisual expressions. Performances will be held at Lincoln Center’s David Koch Theater. Tickets here
