There's an abundance of Mexican restaurants in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, but newcomer Birria Mania, specializing in Tijuana-style cuisine, appears to have struck a chord.
The resaurant opening to long lines. Maybe it's the vibrant murals lining the walls, cheery sombreros dangliing from the the ceiling (and on guests' heads), or the mariachi band with its lively Mexican music. A pink neon sign proclaiming, "Spread Love. It's the Brooklyn way!"
The inventiveness also extends to the menu where birria, a traditional Mexican sauce made with dried chilis, annato paste, tomatoes and spices can be found in everything from tacos and mulitos to poutine and even ramen birria.
Birria Mania is located at 7508 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY
