OASES Restaurant Opens Providing A Sanctuary for the Senses in NYC

Located in the heart of Chelsea, OASES Restaurant (101 West 14th St) is redefining the concept of mindful living with its innovative approach to wellness and dining. Adjacent to a wellness collective, OASES offers a harmonious blend of urban sophistication and holistic well-being, making it the perfect destination for those seeking balance and rejuvenation in the city.

Founded by entrepreneur and fashion industry veteran Sonam Sangmo, OASES was meticulously designed to awaken all five senses. Spanning 4,755 square feet, the space features a café, bazaar, full-service restaurant, bar, and an elegant private dining and event space known as The Tara Room. The all-day café and bazaar debuted in August 2024 with the restaurant and bar now following. Drawing from Sangmo's Himalayan and Buddhist heritage, the restaurant’s menu fuses modern New American cuisine with Himalayan influences and Ayurvedic principles.

Executive Chef Georgie Castillo (Atoboy, Le Coucou, Momofuku) brings this vision to life, crafting dishes that nourish both body and soul. Highlights include Hamachi Crudo with macerated green grapes crispy kale, pistachio and habanero vinaigrette; hand-rolled Himalayan Momos in three variations - - Chicken, Roasted Mushroom, and Langoustine steamed and served with lobster consommé, dehydrated carrots and Aleppo pepper; Tuna Tartare with toasted grains & seeds, chives and ghee; and Roasted Butternut Squash with warming spices and curry pesto.

Other offerings include Mushroom Ragu Bolognese, a vegan dish with bucatini, confit tomatoes and basil; and Faroe Island Coriander Seared Salmon with braised maitake mushrooms and tomato crème sauce.

The adjoining OASES bar offers hand-selected wines and innovative cocktails and mocktails created in partnership with Mixologist consultant Gelo Honrade (Lucky Sevens, Osamil). Cocktails include the Matcha – tini made with Shochu, Ceremonial Matcha Grade, Demerara, Coconut Water, Chocolate Bitters; Guava Flower (also available N/A) with Vodka, Sparkling Wine, Guava, Hibiscus, and Lemon; and OASES (also available N/A) with Tequila Blanco, Sea buckthorn Agave, Club Soda, JM Piment Rhum Jm Shrubb, Spicy bitters.
