Chambers a new minimalist bar and restaurant is located a stone’s throw away from City Hall on Chambers Street. It’s one of only a handful of restaurants to reinvigorate the area post-pandemic, including Fonda and Casa Carmen. When we passed by on a Friday night the place was jammin' with an energetic crowd.
Chambers describes itself as “down to earth” with groovy music, soulful wines and spirits where you can share a table with friend or grab a seat at the counter which is surrounded by a wall of exposed brick.
The menu offers and interesting mix of dishes. Think marinated hamachi with leeks and pickled peppers; whole prawns with potatoes and olives; veal sweetbreads with Tokyo turnips and garlic chives; and Black Sea bass with artichokes, fregola and saffron; among others.
Cocktails come with names like Anywhere But Here with tequila, mezcal, tepache and lime, and Depinna with vodka, fino, pear, celery and soda. Beers, many from Brooklyn, are also available along with cider, non-alcoholic drinks and sweet wines.
Chambers says, “At the end of the day, we’re having a few people over for dinner.”

Chambers is located at 94 Chambers St, New York, NY
