Chef Hiroki Odo and Dassai Brewery Announce Sake Tasting

The award-winning Dassai Brewery will be collaborating with chef Hiroki Odo (above) of the two-Michelin-starred odo restaurant on a special immersive sake tasting experience on July 29, which will begin at The Gallery, and then pass-through HALL, odo restaurant and odo lounge (17 West 20th Street).

Open to the public, the event features passed bites crafted by chef Odo to exclusively pair with the Dassai Blue series, which is a Junmai Daiginjo-only sake, the highest level of premium sake. Dassai’s chairman and third-generation owner of the brewery, Hiroshi Sakurai, will also welcome guests at the pairing event.

Made with Yamadanishiki brewing rice from Japan, the Dassai Blue series is only available at the state-of-the-art Dassai Blue Brewery which opened in September 2023 in Hyde Park, New York, and at select restaurants and bars in New York. As part of this special pairing, the following sake offerings will be featured: Dassai Blue 50, Dassai Blue 50 Nama, Dassai Blue 23, Dassai Blue 23 Nama and Dassai Nigori Sparkling.
