Governors Island to Hold First Winter Solstice Celebration

Governors Island will host its first ever Winter Solstice Celebration on December 16th, celebrating the shortest day of the year.
Events will include art installations, performances, a scavenger hunt and more. Visitors can also find food, fire pits and games at the Colonels Row along with DJ sets from the Lower East Side Girls Club and the opening of the House to Sky winter art exhibition. The event will take place from 12pm to 5pm and is free of charge.
