The Rink at Rockefeller Center is now open for the season, bringing back a beloved New York City tradition. Since its debut on Christmas Day in 1936, The Rink has welcomed countless visitors and famous figures, becoming an iconic symbol of the city.

What's New This Season?

This year, expect enhanced experiences with upgraded LED lighting and a modern sound system to elevate your skating adventure. Starting November 1, the Après Skate Chalets presented by Balsam Hill will return. These themed chalets, located on the South Esplanade, can accommodate up to six people for a cozy 40-minute reservation, which includes two complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Reservations start at $45, and walk-ins are welcome based on availability. Tickets here

Ticket Information

Tickets for The Rink can be purchased online, with prices starting at $21 for adults and children, and $11 for tots (ages 5 and under). During peak hours, ticket prices rise to $54. Seasonal memberships offering unlimited access begin at $550, and skate rentals are available for $12. Tickets here.

Getting to The Rink

The Rink is located at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 49th and 50th Streets. It is accessible via the BDFM trains or the NRW line to 7th Avenue. For drivers, the SP+ parking garage is available, though spots may fill quickly during peak times. Map

What to Wear

Dress comfortably in layers, such as a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, as skating can warm you up. Skates can be rented on-site or brought from home.

Best Times to Skate

The holiday season is the most popular time to visit, especially when the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is lit. For a quieter experience, consider morning sessions or late evening skating.

Enjoying Your Visit

After skating, explore dining options on the Rink Level, including The Tipsy Baker, Café Grumpy, and Ace’s Pizza. For a more upscale dining experience try Naro, Jupiter, and Smith & Mills, or head to Five Acres for comfort foods and Other Half Brewing's Tap Room.

With the reopening of The Rink, immerse yourself in the magic of ice skating at one of NYC's most iconic destinations this winter!
