Visitors to the new Perelman Performing Art Center in Lower Manhattan will find a stunning new restaurant by Chef Marcus Samuelsson called Metropolis. Designed by David Rockwell, the ceiling at Metropolis is lit by an amazing series of sapele wood ribbons integrated with LED lighting. Four massive floor-to-ceiling beams lead the way.

Visitors will also discover a spectacular main dining room, full bar and a landscaped outdoor terrace. A lobby lounge will offer free-to-the-public artistic programming on the Clare and Vartan Gregorian Lobby Stage. By night the lounge transforms into Marcus Samuelsson’s Wine Barre offering select wines, local beers and snacks.

Metropolis’ kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Ed Tinoco, formerly of Alinea, a three Michelin starred restaurant in Chicago. While the full menu has yet to be announced, a pre-opening concession menu features black truffle house popcorn; a fig, prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich; charcuterie board with parmesan, cheddar, coppa, prosciutto and soppressata; and chocolate chip cookies. A formal opening is slated for later this fall.
The Perelman Performing Arts Center is located at 251 Fulton Street, New York, NY. For more information, visit https://pacnyc.org/
