Orange wine continues to grow in popularity and no one knows it better than orange wine expert Doreen Winkler, natural wine sommelier and founder of Orange Glou, the world's first orange wine subscription service and wine store, as well as the Orange Glou Wine Fair, America’s first and only wine fair dedicated exclusively to orange wines. Spotlighting wines made from white grapes whose skins stay in contact with the juice after pressing, the fair will take place on Sunday November 5 (2 sessions: 11am-2:30pm and 3-6pm) at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg.
Attendees will have the chance to taste more than 100 orange wines from over 35 wineries from around the world, including highly allocated labels and rare bottlings – some available in the U.S. for the first time – as well as meet natural wine producers, learn about natural winemaking techniques and maceration styles, plus take home an Orange Glou tasting glass (included with the ticket). Participating wineries include Yetti & The Kokonut, Donkey & Goat, Ruth Lewandowski, Lammidia, Mother Rock, Dario Princic, Pittnauer, Donatus, Petr Marada, Domaine Brand, Costador, Weingut Heinrich, Nespor & Rajsky, Andria Gvino, and many more. The Fair will showcase a wide range of styles, from fresh, juicy, light skin contact wines to textured dark amber ones, which makes the event a great opportunity to explore and discover new wines in this hot and trending wine category.
The Orange Glou Wine Fair will take place Sunday, November 5th at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg (entry on Wythe Avenue between N. 11th and N. 12th streets) in a beautiful space with a garden and lounge. Tickets are $55 for the 11am-2:30pm session and $49 for the 3pm-6pm session and include a signature Orange Glou wine glass to keep (value $15).

Founder Doreen Winkler
Founded by Doreen Winkler, a leading natural wine sommelier and consultant, Orange Glou is the world’s first - and only - wine store and subscription service devoted solely to skin-contact wines. This unique wine store, which grew out of the success of the wine club, offers over 100 different hard-to-find and highly allocated orange wines from around the world, as well as a program of tastings and educational events. Orange (aka skin contact) wines are made with white grapes but in a way typical for reds where the juice stays in contact with the skins after pressing for a period from mere hours to even weeks and can range in hue from pale to golden to very dark orange—hence the name. All wines are natural, organic or biodynamic and made by independent small production winemakers. Monthly wine subscriptions: a curated selection of 3, 6 or 12 new, rare and highly allocated bottles with vinification, tasting and food pairing notes are $105, $195, and $385 a month respectively. As a sommelier, Doreen worked at Michelin-starred Aska and Aldea in NYC and has consulted for other restaurants, bars and wine retailers. The Orange Glou store is at 264 Broome Street in NYC open Wednesday – Thursday 1pm–8pm, Friday – Saturday 1pm–9pm and Sunday 12pm–8pm; www.orangeglou.com
