Quick Guide to NYC’s Fleet Week 2024

Now in its 36th year, New Yorkers will pay homage to members of the U.S Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and Coast Guard during Fleet Week. This year’s festivities will take place from May 21-27. Here’s a quick look at what to expect!

THE SHIPS
Ship Tours Available Thursday to Monday

MANHATTAN

Pier 88
• Amphibious assault ship, USS Bataan (LHD 5) from Norfolk, Virginia

Pier 90
• Baden-Württemberg-class frigate FGS Baden-Württemberg (F-222) from Germany
• Berlin-class replenishment ship FGS Frankfurt am Main (A-1412) from Germany

Intrepid Museum, Pier 86
• Four U.S. Naval Academy YPs, Annapolis, Maryland
• Bay-class cutter USCGC Sturgeon Bay (WTGB-109) from Bayonne, New Jersey

STATEN ISLAND

Homeport Pier
• Freedom -class littoral combat ship USS MARINETTE (LCS 25) from Mayport, Florida
• Legend-class cutter USCGC Calhoun (WMSL-759) from Charleston, South Carolina
• Keeper-class coastal buoy tender USCGC Katherine Walker (WLM-552) from Bayonne, New Jersey

Manhattan tours are 9am-4pm; 8am-5pm on Staten Island. **USS Bataan and ships from Germany will be available for public ship tours ONLY on Saturday, May 25, from 9am to 4pm** For more information click here

SPECIAL EVENTS

May 21

• Navy and Coast Guard helicopters will land at the soccer field at Mt. Loretto on Staten Island where attendees can meet and speak with the flight crews (6541 Hylan Blvd, 10am-2pm)

May 22

• Once a Marine Always a Marine Formation with performances by Marine Corps Band and Silent Drill Platoon in at Father Duffy Square in Times Square (7th Ave and W 47 St, 6-9pm)

May 23

• Dive Tank in Times Square with Navy diving demonstrations at Military Island (43-44 St Plaza; 10am-5pm)

May 24
• Dive Tank in Times Square with Navy diving demonstrations at Military Island (43-44 St Plaza; 10am-5pm)
• Navy Band Northeast “Brass Band” will play from 7:30 to 7:50pm followed by the U.S. Fleet Forces Rock • Band from 8 to 9:15 pm (43-44 St Plaza, Times Square)

May 25

• Dive Tank in Times Square with Navy diving demonstrations at Military Island (43-44 St Plaza; 10am-5pm)
• The U.S. Coast Guard band will perform at Pier 86 from 11am to 12pm at Pier 86
• U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a search and rescue demonstration in the water off of the Staten Island Homeport Pier from 12 to 12:30pm.
• Marine Corps Band will play from 7:30 to 7:50pm followed by the U.S. Fleet Forces Rock Band from 8 to 9:15pm (43-44 St Plaza, Times Square)

May 26

• Forest Hills Memorial Day Weekend Parade – American Legion Post 1424 - 107-15 Metropolitan Avenue, Forest Hills, 11am
• Marine Corps Band Concert in Times Square from 4 to 4:30pm followed by the U.S. Fleet Forces Rock Band from 4:30 to 5:30pm (43-44 St Plaza)

May 27

• Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Day Observance - Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Riverside Drive & 89th St, 10am
• Staten Island Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony - 12pm-3pm at various locations
• U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a search and rescue demonstration in the water off of Pier 86 at 2-3pm.
• Navy Band Northeast and Coast Guard Ceremonial Band will perform at the Bryant Park upper terrace from 3:30pm-5pm.
