Spanish restaurant Salinas is emerging from the pandemic with the opening of the new Salinas Listening Bar.

The listening bar concept itself isn’t new. It actually dates back to 1950s Japan where cozy venues with high-fi sound equipment would play carefully curated vinyl records that allow guests to actually listen and experience the music. Salinas Listening Bar is focusing on Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco, and other types of music. Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 8:00pm – 12:00am, the listening bar will host some of New York’s veteran selectors showcasing music in thoughtful and inventive ways on a Funktion One sound system.

Alongside incredible mixes, guests can also enjoy cocktails and choose from Chef Bollo’s extensive menu of traditional and experimental Spanish tapas. Dishes include seared skirt steak with chimichurri and crispy garbanzo, and crispy artichoke hearts with beets, goat cheese and preserved lemon aioli.

Bar offerings include cocktails like the Commandante on Vacation (Tequila, ginger, passionfruit, lime, hibiscus), and Beso de Sol (Vodka, Licor 43, ruby red grapefruit, aquafaba, rosemary). Spanish wine and beer and sangria are also available.

Salinas is located at 139 9th Avenue, New York, NY (212) 776-1990
