The ceremony on June 28th marked the 55th anniversary of the groundbreaking Stonewall Rebellion, which helped ignite the worldwide LGBTQIA+ rights movement. It featured remarks by President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, a series of heartfelt and emotional performances paying tribute to the monumental occasion by Elton John, Cynthia Erivo, Johnny Manuel's and the Sing Harlem Choir, and appearances by Katy Perry, Deb Haaland, Adam Lambert, Kristen Gillibrand, Kathy Hochul, Debra Glick and more. The ceremony was put on by Pride Live.

The SNMVC will also serve as home base for the dedicated Stonewall National Monument NPS park rangers, who are committed to welcoming all visitors to this site of national significance. In addition to their duties surrounding the preservation of the Stonewall National Monument, the rangers will have access to the facilities, host meetings and stamp guests’ National Parks Passport.
