It’s that time of the year isagain. The holidays are upon us. And one sure sign that Christmas is right around the corner is the arrival of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
The 80-foot tall, 20-ton Norway Spruce just arrived from Vestal, New York via flatbed truck. The family who donated this year's tree, Jackie and Matt McGinley, posed alonside with their children, Zooey and Charlie.
Jackie McGinley drove the symbolic spike into the base of the tree before a huge crane moved the huge Norway Spruce into place.
The tree will be decorated with more than 50,000 multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski crystal star. The official Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on November 29, 2023.
