On a sunny corner in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn where 86th Street meets 3rd Avenue, enter The Corner a new arrival from Chef Thomas Perone who has gone from roasting whole pigs in backyards to fine dining.

The Corner takes itself serious from the design with full bar and chef’s counter to gold-plated silverware, all meant to impress. We stopped in for an ambitious brunch service, something that is lacking in the neighborhood. Be sure to make a reservation because the place fills up quickly.

Showstoppers include Steak and Eggs, a 10oz NY Strip Steak with Bordelaise Sauce, French Omelet, and well-seasoned Corner fries; An oversized Pork Belly Cuban with Gruyère, garlic confit mustard, pickles, roasted pernil, mojo sauce, and fries; and Oscar-Style Eggs Benedict with jumbo lump crab and asparagus.

On the sweet side, there are Crepe Suzette and Tiramisu Pancakes, or finish with homemade doughnuts, made fresh, dusted with sugar and served with a special sauce. Add in a few cocktails and you are good to go! - T.R.

The Corner is located at 8602 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY. For more information, visit thecornerbayridge.com
